ABOUT THE FIBER
ABOUT THE FIBER
THE YARN
A yarn that honors the past while protecting the tomorrow. Alpi brings together the noble Gentile di Lucania - the Queen of Italian Sheep - with an innovative fiber recovered from the Mediterranean Sea. The result is a yarn rich in character and resiliance, where time-honored pastoral traditions meet forward-thinking innovation. By pairing an historic Italian wool with a sea-sourced fiber reclaimed from marine environment, ALPI helps protect natural resources while supporting the preservation of fragile marine habitats.
This is a yarn for mindful makers – one that respect the land, the sea, and the future they share.
THE FIBER PROCESS
All processing takes place in Biella's luxury textile district, home to ancient and invaluable craftsmanship where the human touch still makes a significant difference.
RECCOMENDED CARE
RECCOMENDED CARE
Handle our soft and delightful yarn with care. It's delicate nature requires gentle attention for a soft, airy fluff finish. Be mindful of its fragility when winding and knitting with it. With proper care, your final product will showcase the beauty of this yarn without any compromise in quality.
WET-BLOCKING
- Fill a sink or basin with cold water.
- Submerge the fabric in water, gently squeezing out any air bubbles so that the piece can remain under water without being held there.
- Soak work for 30 minutes or longer allowing fabric to become completely saturated.
- Remove excess moisture by rolling your fabric between clean, dry towels with light pressure.
- Lay fabric flat and shape to air dry.
